When we did open, we had moderate seeing, and occasional periods of thick clouds. When slewing to our field on echelle, the telescope did not accept Oza's coordinates and went someplace different. We found the field as seen in e0016. Then we gave it an offset that would put it at the desired coordinates, and we got the field in e0018. They look similar enough for me to say it's the same filed, but I'm not sure I understand how that could be. Clouds got very thick right at the end of Oza's time, which is lucky because the ecame started acting up. I got the following error-- 09:05:23 APO.alaina 263 ecam f text="\"could not read new image file: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/export/images/forTron/guider/gimg2493.fits'\"" But I was actually working on ecam/UT140423/e0563.fits. Why did it all of a sudden decide to look some different place? Restarting ecam got it back. While pointing was a little strange on echelle (star was in the top left corner of the fov) it was nearly spot on in DIS. This is just as an additional piece of info, since I know we're still working on magnesensors and tracking/slewing. Russet was not able to shoot the APOLLO laser through the clouds. So instead we worked on some pointing issues. She checked pointing on several stars--not surprised to find errors in Alt pointing, but was surprised to find errors in Az. This may need further diagnosis. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:31 ecamera 540( -241) 227 33 10.8 11.3 12.2 11.3 10.8 ND1 1.42 02:22 dcamera 543( 750) 291 29 9.7 9.9 10.5 9.9 9.7 -- 1.84 04:17 APOLLO 750( 1531) 150 83 8.5 8.5 9.1 8.4 8.2 -- 1.60 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 60 31 22 210 (SSW) 807 ptly cldy none 17:00 60 30 28 208 (SSW) 886 ptly cldy none 18:00 56 28 19 190 (S) 849 ptly cldy none 19:00 56 27 10 181 (S) 869 ptly cldy none 20:00 55 27 18 168 (SSE) 927 cloudy none 21:00 52 31 17 147 (SSE) 1164 cloudy none 22:00 51 31 24 158 (SSE) 1186 cloudy none 23:00 51 31 9 181 (S) 1015 cloudy wind 00:00 51 31 16 185 (S) 1559 cloudy wind 01:00 52 29 30 199 (SSW) 2393 clear wind 02:00 51 28 22 205 (SSW) 3085 mstly cldy none 03:00 50 27 15 245 (WSW) 2424 ptly cldy none 04:00 49 26 14 235 (SW) 2242 mstly clr none 05:00 47 22 14 261 (W) 1973 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
