Worked fine after reboot. During twilight I took cals for DIS througput measuremnts, which I hope to get later tonight. Restarted hub, per Fritz instructions. Focused then started Biggrid.dat pointing model to excercise drives and check pointing. NA2 guider hung on the first pointing star. 02:49:16 .tcc.0 0 tcc F Modu="prt_Read"; Text="read timed out on port NTY1:" 02:49:16 CmdDone: .tcc 0 tcc 02:49:16 CmdStarted: .tcc 0 tcc 02:49:16 .tcc.0 0 tcc I GCamCmd="findstars 1 170.7 170.7 341.3 341.3 3.6 3.4" 02:49:16 CmdStarted: TC01.gcam 10 gcam findstars 1 170.7 170.7 341.3 341.3 3.6 3.4 02:49:16 TC01.gcam 10 gcam w text="unknown arguments: {('1', None), ('170.7', None), ('341.3', None), ('3.6', None), ('3.4', None)}" 02:49:16 TC01.gcam 10 gcam f text="guider is running a previous command." 02:49:16 CmdDone: TC01.gcam 10 gcam findstars 1 170.7 170.7 341.3 341.3 3.6 3.4 02:49:18 APO.Jack-Obs1.gcam 95 gcamera f text="local variable 'd' referenced before assignment" 02:49:18 CmdDone: client-25 95 gcamera expose exptime=5.0 bin=3,3 offset=101,180 size=62,62 filename=/export/images/gcam/UT140418/g0280.fits 02:49:18 APO.Jack-Obs1 215 gcam i darkFile="None" 02:49:18 APO.Jack-Obs1 215 gcam f text="\"local variable 'd' referenced before assignment\"" 02:49:18 CmdDone: APO.Jack-Obs1 215 gcam findstars exptime=5.0 bin=3 window=101,180,162,241 I restarted the gcam and gcamera. After this I restarted the pointing model, it just wasn't happy trying to take any guider images after the gcam restarts. Things still were not happy with the pointing model trying to take gcam images. They worked fine if I took them with TUI. Problem was with the new tron Fritz had me start earlier. I revereted back to the old guider 2013 tron version for the pointing models. Things were happier after this, well for a while at least. Multiple alt drive errors (separate email sent to engineers) NA2 guider failure (again) 04:12:25 TC01.gcam.gcam 131 gcamera f text="local variable 'd' referenced before assignment" 04:12:25 CmdDone: client-21 131 gcamera expose exptime=5.0 bin=3,3 offset=0,0 size=341,341 filename=/export/images/gcam/UT140418/g0332.fits 04:12:25 TC01.gcam 83 gcam i camFile="None" 04:12:25 TC01.gcam 83 gcam w text="\"local variable 'd' referenced before assignment\"" 04:12:25 TC01.gcam 83 gcam w txtForTcc="\"local variable 'd' referenced before assignment\"" 04:12:25 TC01.gcam 83 gcam : txtForTcc=" OK" 04:12:25 CmdDone: TC01.gcam 83 gcam doread 5.00 3 3 170.7 170.7 341.3 341.3 04:12:25 .tcc.0 0 tcc F GCamReply="\"local variable 'd' referenced before assignment\" I finally got the telescope stuck at ~82.5 deg altitude. It would slew up but not down. I called Bill and then Fritz. Fritz got it to move again but suggested no large alt slews (that put a stop to the pointing model). I moved it in small increments to my throughput star altitudes to try to get some data, although thin cirrus were starting to now appear on the cloud cam. At least I could test tracking. I managed to do too large of a slew and locked the alt up at 74.4 deg. very small nudges back and forth managed to free it again (took about 20 mins or so). I managed to get my last 2 throughput stars. I then did the DIS focus vs. slitviewer check @ Column 1090 Red Blue FWHM FWHM -100 6.584 5.484 -75 5.994 4.801 -50 5.003 4.277 -25 4.242 4.023 nominal 3.718 3.778 +25 3.753 3.97 +50 3.06 3.799 +75 3.378 4.253 +100 3.799 4.967 Russset checked and adjusted collimation with the Shack-Hartmann Installed pinhole for Russet to take a spectra to see if she needs to come in tomorrow to adjust the internal focus of DIS I took 20 min darks for DIS, SPIcam, and the Echelle. I left the telescope parked at 104,75 this morning as the drives gave us problems if we went below 40 deg alt. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:34 GUIDER 132( 417) 67 63 4.7 9.3 9.9 9.8 5.6 R+ND2 1.70 23:55 dcamera 556( 498) 144 39 4.2 5.1 5.7 5.1 5.3 -- 2.80 02:29 dcamera 593( 530) -74 53 7.6 5.4 6.1 5.2 5.6 -- 1.58 03:25 SHACK 793( 1316) -82 56 7.6 6.2 6.9 6.2 6.7 -- 1.50 03:59 SHACK 743( 1266) -83 57 7.2 6.2 6.9 6.0 6.3 -- 1.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 57 20 12 253 (WSW) 1934 clear none 17:00 55 19 9 216 (SW) 1584 clear none 18:00 51 15 5 264 (W) 1414 clear none 19:00 49 23 8 215 (SW) 1665 clear none 20:00 42 25 15 85 (E) 1695 clear none 21:00 40 25 12 114 (ESE) 1611 clear none 22:00 38 25 9 93 (E) 1689 clear none 23:00 41 22 5 108 (ESE) 1930 mstly clr none 00:00 40 21 6 110 (ESE) 1816 mstly clr none 01:00 43 19 2 155 (SSE) 1959 mstly clr none 02:00 43 18 6 109 (ESE) 2089 mstly clr none 03:00 47 15 7 189 (S) 2017 ptly cldy none 04:00 45 18 6 129 (SE) 2101 ptly cldy none 05:00 45 14 5 207 (SSW) 1825 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
