The wind dropped and clouds thinned right around the changeover time, so the second half program was able to observe with mostly photometric skies and poor seeing. Smoke could barely be smelled but I mostly kept the fans in a defensive setting just in case. The telescope was initially very far out of equilibrium but settled within a couple of hours. NM02 was scheduled for the end of the night but she said Venus was really too small to be observed in poor seeing conditions, so she gave the time to PU04. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:26 ecamera 335( -746) 113 62 5.0 6.2 8.3 5.9 5.2 ND2 1.88 03:18 ecamera 659( -486) 124 45 4.7 4.5 5.4 4.5 4.3 Clear 1.62 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 19 20 258 (WSW) 2847 cloudy dust 17:00 53 18 33 219 (SW) 5796 cloudy dust 18:00 51 22 26 260 (W) 20502 cloudy dust 19:00 50 22 30 222 (SW) 15251 cloudy dust 20:00 45 32 21 222 (SW) 55693 cloudy dust 21:00 43 32 17 177 (S) 36306 cloudy dust 22:00 43 32 26 214 (SW) 10758 cloudy dust 23:00 42 32 23 223 (SW) 2456 cloudy none 00:00 42 31 22 240 (WSW) 1441 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
