Saw normal noise on PMSS. Dust and high winds closed us at 20:02. Opened again at 20:23. Finished at 21:47. Checked collimation and pointing with Echelle before switching to NICFPS. During CU02- User Francisco Mueller had connection issues from CU. He was not able to get ob sky until 01:34. During CU01, at ~05:25, saw a lot of noise in the pmss system, and the telescope would not obey small offsets in altitude. I stopped and restarted the axes. This seemed to clear the error. The rest of the night went okay, even though the seeing was horrible for the majority of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:39 ecamera 734( -256) 122 38 6.9 7.4 7.6 6.9 6.4 clear 1.80 22:14 NICFPS 613( 1063) 117 70 5.8 5.9 7.0 5.8 5.5 MK-J 2.96 01:04 dcamera 806( 660) -5 62 3.7 3.9 5.7 3.8 3.6 -- 1.93 02:32 NICFPS 550( 854) 237 71 2.9 3.0 3.9 3.0 3.1 MK-J 3.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 49 14 21 251 (WSW) 1229 clear none 17:00 51 13 24 216 (SW) 948 clear none 18:00 48 10 19 214 (SW) 1126 clear none 19:00 45 7 34 239 (WSW) 1347 clear none 20:00 44 6 24 259 (W) 6711 mstly clr dust 21:00 44 6 25 262 (W) 1645 mstly clr none 22:00 43 8 29 271 (W) 1269 mstly clr none 23:00 41 7 23 269 (W) 1797 ptly cldy none 00:00 39 7 23 270 (W) 1575 ptly cldy none 01:00 39 6 20 268 (W) 1576 ptly cldy none 02:00 38 5 17 263 (W) 1587 ptly cldy none 03:00 37 5 19 266 (W) 1557 ptly cldy none 04:00 37 4 17 273 (W) 1584 mstly clr none 05:00 36 5 16 273 (W) 1895 mstly clr none 06:00 36 5 21 273 (W) 2000 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
