It came up with "02:21:48 DD01.MikeE 53 dcam f text="guide star moved off frame." It did this every time Mike tried to restart the guiding, until I tried myself. Then it was ok, and he was able to start the guiding himself. I know we're getting a new guide software soon, but this is a new failure that I have not seen before. Towards the end of first half, the guider had an extremely hard time keeping the stars. Even the NA2 guider was letting the field drift away and complained about it. Second half didn't get much opportunity to test this, because the clouds were too think to guide on their objects. Closed at 2:45 because the clouds were too thick to get any data (We tried awful hard!), so we opted to take cals instead. The timing was good, because the clouds developed some radar returns shortly after. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:35 dcamera 468( -116) -39 82 -5.8 -4.5 -3.8 -4.5 -5.5 -- 1.03 21:29 dcamera 618( -77) 139 67 -6.2 -6.8 -6.2 -6.9 -6.7 -- 0.87 23:55 dcamera 666( -21) 296 75 -5.8 -6.5 -6.0 -6.4 -6.1 -- 2.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 24 8 21 271 (W) 400 ptly cldy none 17:00 25 10 19 258 (WSW) 437 ptly cldy none 18:00 22 10 17 263 (W) 671 mstly clr none 19:00 21 10 14 267 (W) 612 mstly clr none 20:00 21 10 15 268 (W) 525 clear none 21:00 20 10 11 290 (WNW) 452 ptly cldy none 22:00 21 10 10 279 (W) 465 ptly cldy none 23:00 22 9 13 315 (NW) 427 cloudy none 00:00 21 10 9 356 (N) 358 mstly cldy none 01:00 23 8 6 357 (N) 345 mstly cldy none 02:00 23 8 4 291 (WNW) 323 cloudy none 03:00 23 8 5 281 (W) 345 cloudy none 04:00 24 7 9 204 (SSW) 374 cloudy none 05:00 24 5 9 222 (SW) 292 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
