I ran the snow program all night. Once I was confident that we wouldn't be able to open even if the weather cleared, I changed instrument setups to do some cloudy night work with DIS: characterization of the B1200 grating, a spectrograph focus check, and reassessing the contamination on the red field flattener. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 36 20 13 241 (WSW) 489 ptly cldy none 17:00 32 20 11 225 (SW) 578 ptly cldy none 18:00 28 24 28 244 (WSW) 4531 cloudy lt snow 19:00 27 24 14 215 (SW) 669 cloudy lt snow 20:00 24 24 13 263 (W) 3684 cloudy lt snow 21:00 25 15 11 246 (WSW) 1724 cloudy lt snow 22:00 26 11 28 251 (WSW) 956 cloudy snow 23:00 25 8 17 265 (W) 672 cloudy snow 00:00 23 8 18 245 (WSW) 669 cloudy snow 01:00 21 11 21 242 (WSW) 702 cloudy snow 02:00 20 15 20 243 (WSW) 888 cloudy none 03:00 19 17 22 259 (W) 1092 cloudy snow 04:00 18 17 13 260 (W) 479 cloudy snow 05:00 18 16 24 286 (WNW) 1159 cloudy fog 06:00 17 17 13 297 (WNW) 2056 cloudy fog Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
