I figured we could give it a shot, and close immediately if any clouds developed overhead. We were lucky until just before midnight, when some radar returns developed and made me nervous. It cleared up about an hour and a half later, and we opened. Clouds made observing a bit difficult occasionally, but overall the rest of the night was pretty good. Had to close again at about 05:00 for more radar. We were running the new guider, and we had a few issues with it. Sent them to Fritz. We were trying to just move the rotator. The method that Julie used on her last run no longer worked (tcc rot 82 obj). She got the following error: 08:54:27 APO.alaina 232 tcc F Text="new position rejected"; AxisNoSlew="TTT"; RejectedAxisErrCode="NoRestart","NoRestart","CannotCompute" We eventually got it to work via the slew window. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:45 dcamera 337( 312) 90 53 2.9 6.1 6.1 6.5 3.5 -- 1.38 20:09 dcamera 437( 276) 142 59 3.2 3.6 3.8 3.0 2.8 -- 1.05 00:56 dcamera 590( 381) 83 56 2.9 2.6 3.0 2.7 2.6 -- 1.29 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 42 22 9 276 (W) 691 clear none 17:00 40 22 6 276 (W) 691 mstly clr none 18:00 39 23 11 298 (WNW) 691 mstly clr none 19:00 38 24 12 239 (WSW) 1052 clear none 20:00 38 25 12 225 (SW) 945 clear none 21:00 38 25 13 221 (SW) 986 mstly clr none 22:00 38 25 14 212 (SSW) 1015 clear none 23:00 38 25 12 190 (S) 1190 mstly clr none 00:00 39 23 11 259 (W) 720 ptly cldy none 01:00 37 22 11 265 (W) 751 ptly cldy none 02:00 37 22 15 267 (W) 800 mstly cldy none 03:00 37 21 16 268 (W) 693 mstly clr none 04:00 37 21 15 288 (WNW) 738 mstly clr none 05:00 37 21 15 293 (WNW) 617 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
