The PMSS-dataq (the display on the parallels desktop) froze 3 times, and needed to be restarted. The major issue was that the Az seemed to suddenly decide it was on the outside wrap, when it was truly on the inside one. Or vice versa. The telescope will "crash" if you command it to +15 after crossng 0. Once we got the telescope moving again, we restricted the Az to only the west (-180 to +5). This worked out decently well, and Bill said he would look into it today. See PR 1491. I parked the telescope at a weird western position, both for the Az and because the observer wanted it that way for cals. **Notes on the time sections** Opened the dome at 17:05. >From 22:34 to 00:01 for the Az limit problem, logged as equipment time for both JH04 and IH01. (total of about 1.5 hours lost) Zlatan gave up at 23:08, while we were struggling with the Az. I handed the telescope over to Pu at 00:01, and he continued until 5:40. Mike Strauss took over at that time, and we closed the dome at 06:35 ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:06 ecamera 659( -632) -72 42 -0.7 1.5 1.4 0.7 -0.5 ND2 1.04 00:20 dcamera 594( 204) -81 65 -0.6 -0.8 -0.3 -0.8 -0.7 -- 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 33 11 2 67 (ENE) 197 clear none 17:00 33 9 14 343 (NNW) 184 clear none 18:00 31 14 5 3 (N) 227 clear none 19:00 31 18 6 290 (WNW) 243 clear none 20:00 30 18 8 336 (NNW) 326 clear none 21:00 31 19 15 322 (NW) 347 clear none 22:00 32 20 22 316 (NW) 343 clear none 23:00 32 20 21 326 (NW) 479 clear none 00:00 31 20 11 328 (NNW) 513 clear none 01:00 31 19 8 305 (NW) 469 clear none 02:00 30 18 6 359 (N) 409 clear none 03:00 29 16 8 354 (N) 281 clear none 04:00 29 14 10 16 (NNE) 246 clear none 05:00 30 6 14 24 (NNE) 117 clear none 06:00 30 4 23 16 (NNE) 127 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
