The wind picked up at ~ 22:30, and soon forced us to close. We attempted to open again at 01:10, but the axis motors would not initialize. It took an 1.5 hours of troubleshooting, at least half of which we would have been closed for wind anyhow. I split this difference, and we got on sky again at 02:40. No problems after that. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- IH01 DIS T/H 01:10 02:40 wind induced dome/scope collision ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:41 dcamera 870( 687) -94 56 1.4 3.1 2.7 2.8 1.8 -- 1.20 18:13 dcamera 616( 410) 28 49 0.9 2.5 2.2 1.9 1.1 -- 1.80 02:49 dcamera 556( 259) 268 63 1.1 1.0 1.2 1.2 1.1 -- 1.62 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 39 16 9 238 (WSW) 405 ptly cldy none 17:00 35 13 10 269 (W) 405 mstly clr none 18:00 34 14 15 275 (W) 405 clear none 19:00 34 17 20 277 (W) 405 clear none 20:00 34 16 21 273 (W) 405 clear none 21:00 34 15 19 268 (W) 405 clear none 22:00 35 14 17 279 (W) 405 clear none 23:00 35 14 20 293 (WNW) 405 clear none 00:00 34 15 24 280 (W) 405 clear none 01:00 35 17 21 278 (W) 405 clear none 02:00 35 17 24 288 (WNW) 405 clear none 03:00 34 17 23 269 (W) 405 clear none 04:00 34 17 20 269 (W) 405 clear none 05:00 34 15 21 276 (W) 405 clear none 06:00 34 14 21 275 (W) 405 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
