We got away with pointing away from the wind, and were able to stay open through the worst parts. Zeroed the NA2 rotator Reset all 4 axes. Ran guider tests with Russet and Fritz on an echelle field of Kaike's choosing. Also ran some tests on tcam. Checked collimation on Shack-Hartmann. Requested change was pretty small, and the seeing wasn't great. So we left it as is. Checked Dis slitviewer vs spectrograph focus. Did a biggrid.dat pointing model on NA2 and implemented it. Dis Throughput--Feige 67, G191B2B, Feige 34, Feige 66, PG1708+602 including cals (taken after closing) Fills at 05:10. GIFS mounted for daytime testing. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:09 ecamera 776( -507) 97 65 1.1 2.2 2.3 2.3 1.1 ND2 1.04 21:05 SHACK 670( 915) 60 58 0.8 0.7 1.1 0.7 0.6 -- 2.00 23:08 GUIDER 661( 495) -146 63 0.5 0.6 1.0 0.8 0.7 Clear 1.00 02:25 dcamera 643( 344) 76 51 2.2 0.7 1.1 1.1 1.8 -- 1.55 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 37 9 16 7 (N) 405 clear none 17:00 37 8 14 353 (N) 405 mstly clr none 18:00 34 8 11 2 (N) 405 clear none 19:00 36 9 17 21 (NNE) 405 clear none 20:00 34 8 14 345 (NNW) 405 clear none 21:00 34 8 12 19 (NNE) 405 clear none 22:00 34 9 6 6 (N) 405 clear none 23:00 33 7 11 10 (N) 405 clear none 00:00 33 8 17 6 (N) 405 clear none 01:00 33 9 14 16 (NNE) 405 clear none 02:00 34 9 28 12 (NNE) 405 clear none 03:00 36 1 34 21 (NNE) 405 clear none 04:00 36 1 32 22 (NNE) 405 clear none 05:00 37 -1 26 27 (NNE) 405 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
