Bradley Fast clouds crossing the sky from south-west to north-east between 00:00 and 01:00 but with good clear moments. Clouds came back regulariy at about 04:00 up to twilight. Good data though along the night even if shortly interrupted sometimes. We noted that the DIS mask is decentered with respect to the slit position. We will work on creating a new mask tomorrow afternoon. We go on training Francisco Muller-Sanchez, Julie Comerford, David Jones TRIPLESPEC FOCUS Yesterdqy there was a question about the seeing measured with tspec, which was significantly larger (~1.5" instead of ~1.1") than for SLOAN and the Echelle on the 3.5m. Yesterday we were thinking it was associated with direction of pointing and variable seeing. Today we paid more attention to that and again the focus is larger than that measured with DIS 2 hours before (1.5 instead of 1) Sw 2 504 6.4 1.66 2485 25039 27525 Sw 3 554 5.8 1.50 2518 23556 26074 Sw 4 604 5.4 1.40 2556 25990 28546 Sw 5 654 5.9 1.52 2531 23188 25719 Fit 596 5.4 1.39 Fit σ 38 0.2 0.06 Meas 596 5.8 1.50 2497 23711 26207 Restoring boresight to 0.0000000, 0.0000000 deg Taking a final exposure ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:01 dis-slit 380( 847) -105 47 13.8 15.7 15.5 15.6 13.9 -- 1.14 20:31 ECHELLE 584( -48) -44 29 14.2 14.1 14.3 14.1 14.0 Clear 1.01 22:10 dis-slit 554( 910) 294 81 14.4 13.9 14.2 14.0 14.2 -- 0.94 00:27 TSPEC 596( 1109) 99 81 12.3 13.1 13.5 13.1 12.5 -- 1.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 65 31 21 233 (SW) 845 mstly clr none 17:00 63 31 12 187 (S) 995 mstly clr none 18:00 61 31 10 235 (SW) 770 mstly clr none 19:00 57 31 15 234 (SW) 472 clear none 20:00 57 31 15 210 (SSW) 523 clear none 21:00 57 31 15 210 (SSW) 553 ptly cldy none 22:00 58 31 17 203 (SSW) 640 ptly cldy none 23:00 58 31 17 211 (SSW) 757 mstly cldy none 00:00 57 31 9 217 (SW) 779 ptly cldy none 01:00 57 30 18 232 (SW) 628 mstly clr none 02:00 53 30 13 231 (SW) 685 mstly clr none 03:00 53 28 12 253 (WSW) 625 mstly clr none 04:00 53 30 15 230 (SW) 604 ptly cldy none 05:00 52 30 14 231 (SW) 526 ptly cldy none 06:00 54 30 20 247 (WSW) 433 mstly cldy none TELESCOPE STATUS Telescope drives operational.
