It was well out of the slit, and positioned toward the bottom right of the slitviewer. In the next exposure, it was on the opposite side. Wind was less than 15 mph, and we could not decide a physical reason this happened. We re-centered on the star and guiding resumed without issue the rest of the night. See guiding images ecam/UT130924/proc-e1356-8 The night was clear and productive. No other issues. Seeing hovered between 0.9 and 1.5". ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:37 TSPEC 590( 1053) 97 50 10.3 11.7 11.8 11.6 10.3 -- 1.20 01:21 ECHELLE 615( -259) 240 35 10.1 9.5 10.1 9.6 9.6 ND3 0.97 04:00 ECHELLE 616( -262) 219 26 9.9 9.1 9.6 9.2 9.4 ND1 1.25 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 23 13 336 (NNW) clear none 17:00 54 24 12 328 (NNW) clear none 18:00 53 25 15 347 (NNW) clear none 19:00 51 26 4 11 (N) clear none 20:00 50 26 18 29 (NNE) clear none 21:00 51 24 10 1 (N) clear none 22:00 52 25 14 11 (N) clear none 23:00 52 25 26 357 (N) clear none 00:00 51 25 22 13 (NNE) clear none 01:00 50 25 9 30 (NNE) clear none 02:00 50 25 12 5 (N) clear none 03:00 50 25 15 49 (NE) clear none 04:00 50 25 18 16 (NNE) clear none 05:00 50 26 15 22 (NNE) clear none 06:00 50 20 1 168 (SSE) clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
