I took 20min darks with DIS and Echelle, Russet was running another set of 900s separately for SPIcam tonight. Dome dark the DIS red side (B1200/R1200 gratings) showed a small glow at the both of the bottom coreners. There were no lights on during the exposures. I performed some repeatability tests for DIS bay 2 using the B1200/R1200 gratings. with calibrated gratings (probably not necessary for this test) I moved the grating centers from 4400/7300 to 3800/6800 then back to the original position (A) and checked the position of the 4471/7173 lines. Then moved gratings to 4900/7800 and back to the original position (B) and again checked the above line positions. Wind also picked up and wind direction started coming out of the NE, so seeing probably went south. Outside railing was dry yet but it looked like there might be fog just off to our east. I carefully watched the cloudcam to get the last few stars. I really had to push the limit to get the last couple stars, but the fog was blowing overtop and not at ground level, although the humidity was really high. There was no condenstation on the telescope truss or bottom telescope railing. Fog closed us the rest of the night. Wind partially blew off the cloth on SPIcam, the exposures around 11:00 UT probably had dome lights on (about 15 mins or so). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:45 GUIDER 361( 785) -54 51 12.7 11.9 12.8 12.1 12.2 R 0.86 Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
