I expected that it would remain high given the saturated ground, but mid-evening the wind shifted from east to south and the humidity dropped. We were able to open and stay open. Some waves of clouds passed through and caused occasional problems with data acquisition, but never enough to give up on observing. Seeing was moderate to poor. During the initial part of the evening while the weather was bad, I made some progress in investigations of DIS spectrograph focus and SPIcam dark current. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:20 TSPEC 605( 1102) 201 48 11.4 12.3 12.6 12.2 11.2 Ks 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 47 9 146 (SE) cloudy lt rain 17:00 54 49 3 268 (W) mstly cldy none 18:00 54 46 5 187 (S) ptly cldy none 19:00 54 47 2 144 (SE) ptly cldy none 20:00 52 49 12 97 (E) ptly cldy humid 21:00 51 48 16 111 (ESE) ptly cldy humid 22:00 52 42 23 125 (SE) mstly clr none 23:00 52 44 19 150 (SSE) clear none 00:00 52 44 19 136 (SE) ptly cldy none 01:00 52 44 15 159 (SSE) mstly clr none 02:00 53 44 16 170 (S) ptly cldy none 03:00 53 45 9 178 (S) ptly cldy none 04:00 53 45 12 176 (S) mstly clr none 05:00 53 45 14 182 (S) clear none 06:00 52 44 11 182 (S) clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
