McMillan The weather was ;ostly clear for the first half of the night, with increasi= ng clouds in the second half. We spent much time on DIS checkout. The gratings and mirrors look OK, the s= pectrographs are well focused, clouds interrupted when we were checking the= slit viewer focus but we did get it close. Dark current is nearly 0 for bo= th blue and red. A little more fine adjustment is maybe needed for DIS but = everything is basically looking all right. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:45 dis-slit 404( 963) 92 60 17.5 17.7 18.0 17.6 17.1 - 1.08 23:08 dis-slit 372( 921) 89 65 18.1 17.6 17.9 17.4 17.6 - 1.12 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 70 47 8 245 (WSW) ptly cldy none 17:00 69 49 5 260 (W) mstly cldy rain 18:00 59 51 10 48 (NE) mstly cldy rain 19:00 66 50 2 207 (SSW) ptly cldy none 20:00 64 49 6 195 (SSW) mstly clr none 21:00 65 49 6 151 (SSE) clear none 22:00 64 48 6 188 (S) clear none 23:00 63 47 3 196 (SSW) mstly clr none 00:00 64 46 1 233 (SW) mstly clr none 01:00 64 46 2 256 (WSW) ptly cldy none 02:00 65 46 2 262 (W) mstly cldy none 03:00 65 45 1 214 (SW) cloudy none 04:00 58 49 11 83 (E) cloudy lt rain Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
