I did a rough collimation, but wasn't ready for Shack-Hartmann until the telescope cooled more, so while cooling I took some throughput data with SPIcam. Weather was not perfectly photometric but rarely gets better this time of year. I hope the data will be sufficient to answer some questions about instrumental zeropoint. Collimation with the Shack-Hartmann was quick and easy. Pointing was somewhat more vexed - I took a short model and a long one, and we might need to make some more adjustments based on those results. So, work still needs to be done to get the telescope in a fit state for science, but we made a lot of progress tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:24 SPICAM 600( 1202) -56 52 15.5 15.4 16.0 15.4 15.1 R 0.70 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 67 47 6 200 (SSW) ptly cldy lt rain 17:00 66 45 10 179 (S) ptly cldy lt rain 18:00 66 48 11 201 (SSW) ptly cldy none 19:00 65 46 14 147 (SSE) ptly cldy none 20:00 63 44 10 178 (S) mstly clr none 21:00 61 45 15 141 (SE) mstly clr none 22:00 61 46 17 145 (SE) clear none 23:00 60 47 18 141 (SE) clear none 00:00 60 46 19 152 (SSE) clear none 01:00 60 44 15 163 (SSE) clear none 02:00 60 42 11 181 (S) clear none 03:00 59 42 15 167 (SSE) clear none 04:00 59 43 14 176 (S) clear none 05:00 59 45 14 180 (S) clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
