Heavy clouds and radar returns for the rest of the night, with a little bit of rain. The entire night was lost. Russet did some DIS darks during second half. During the storm this afternoon, the fire alarm went off in the cone area. Inspected the whole telescope and found nothing, except that there was a leak from the roof of the enclosure near the Echelle. The water seemed to be going right through a smoke detector, which was the only one in the dome with a red light lit. Joe came to investigate, and said all looked normal to him. Also note, right after I discovered this I tried calling Mark and Bill multiple times, but the phones were not cooperating. There was a dial tone, but all calls said the call could not be completed. Jon Brinkman powercycled the system, and eventually I was able to get through to Joe. All seemed to be normal after the rain stopped. I had the same problems with the GIFS hose that Alysha did. This afternoon it was fine, behaved normally. This morning it was frozen on but the collar moved back. When I thawed it out I couldn't make the collar budge. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 62 47 13 206 (SSW) 514 cloudy none 17:00 63 46 18 215 (SW) 429 cloudy none 18:00 63 46 12 196 (SSW) 492 cloudy rain 19:00 47 40 19 88 (E) 1218 cloudy rain 20:00 51 43 0 292 (WNW) 354 cloudy humid 21:00 50 42 7 210 (SSW) 255 cloudy humid 22:00 50 43 8 193 (SSW) 343 cloudy none 23:00 50 43 6 183 (S) 301 cloudy none 00:00 51 42 3 128 (SE) 327 cloudy none 01:00 53 41 2 251 (WSW) 261 cloudy lt rain 02:00 53 40 5 339 (NNW) 167 cloudy none 03:00 54 41 5 335 (NNW) 168 cloudy none 04:00 52 41 8 348 (NNW) 167 cloudy none 05:00 52 41 5 357 (N) 195 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
