We opened and attempted to get on sky, but CU07's target field was right in the clouds. We did not obtain any data while open, so I closed when we were clouded out at 22:33. We made a second attempt at 23:38. We were only able to actively take data for 15 mintues, and then the clouds returned in full force. We remained open, but unable to collect data. I chalked this time to weather loss. Allison gave up at 00:45. Echelle was able to push through the clouds, and they cleared soon after. No problems the rest of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:13 ECHELLE 499( -474) 133 78 15.1 15.3 15.7 15.4 15.0 clear 0.86 04:11 dis-slit 286( 311) 319 64 14.2 14.2 14.6 14.1 13.8 -- 0.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 57 53 13 87 (E) 981 mstly cldy none 17:00 60 49 16 105 (ESE) 518 ptly cldy none 18:00 64 47 13 114 (ESE) 568 ptly cldy none 19:00 63 47 11 88 (E) 609 ptly cldy none 20:00 62 49 15 84 (E) 684 mstly cldy none 21:00 61 49 19 83 (E) 677 ptly cldy none 22:00 62 46 14 54 (NE) 843 mstly cldy none 23:00 61 45 13 88 (E) 974 ptly cldy none 00:00 60 42 17 115 (ESE) 1100 mstly cldy none 01:00 60 42 12 101 (E) 1094 mstly cldy none 02:00 59 43 10 121 (ESE) 1377 ptly cldy none 03:00 60 42 8 119 (ESE) 1131 mstly clr none 04:00 57 44 16 126 (SE) 1440 mstly clr none 05:00 57 44 11 124 (SE) 1373 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
