When humidity finally dropped, I opened to cool for ~15 minutes before I contacted CU07 to get on sky. Seeing was 2.1" when we opened, but the clouds soon retunred and we lost a little more sky time when we lost the guide stars. After CU07 quit, I waited 15 minutes for a UW03 observer to show up. I used phone and email contact information to get a hold of Leslie. I called Russet after 20 minutes of no response, and she sent an email to Suzanne around 02:00. I closed at 2:16 and kept venting, although the clouds made the night pretty useless anyways. At 3:00, with no email responses and worse weather, I closed and did fills. I can top off GIFS and NICFPS at 9 am tomorrow so they last during the day. During morning fills, I had to use a lot more pressure than necessary to attach and detach GIFS hose. There may be something wrong with the snap collar, but I could not see anything obvious. I used the heat gun, but ice was not the problem. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:44 TSPEC 350( 501) 7 28 9.9 11.7 14.0 11.3 10.0 -- 2.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 50 2 102 (ESE) 212 ptly cldy none 17:00 55 50 11 82 (E) 195 mstly cldy none 18:00 54 49 11 88 (E) 217 cloudy lt rain 19:00 55 49 10 80 (E) 198 cloudy lt rain 20:00 53 49 12 69 (ENE) 226 cloudy none 21:00 47 46 35 75 (ENE) 153 cloudy lt rain 22:00 48 46 30 78 (ENE) 61 ptly cldy none 23:00 49 42 5 355 (N) 75 mstly clr none 00:00 50 41 1 234 (SW) 87 ptly cldy none 01:00 48 41 2 252 (WSW) 73 mstly cldy none 02:00 49 42 7 45 (NE) 71 cloudy none 03:00 50 42 10 80 (E) 78 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
