Despite that, Don still noted the following: "Because of the filter problem with the lamp filter, you might want to note that the blue flat expo level is 15000 DN at the highest point (approx)." We had an internet drop out that Jon and Fritz think can be attributed to something in Don York's internet provider. While the problem lasted about 50 minutes, there was no science time lost because we were running a set of long exposures. Don's objects were all on the left side of the ecam images, but since the objects could still be found easily I chose to leave the pointing as is, and not waste his sky time on it. I will look into this during twilight tomorrow. 05:40 UT The az threw a motion error during a science exposure. Luckily, it was at the very beginning of the exposure, so only a minute or two were lost. The error was easily cleared, and things went back to running smoothly. 06:55:37 UT Another Az motion error, this time towards the end of a science exposure. Tried to fix quickly, but not sure if that exposure is useful. This one happened at Az=302, while the first one happened at ~193 After all the events of first half, the second half was very quiet. We had decent to good seeing all night, with mostly clear skies. We had one dust spike, which flirted with the closure limits but I stayed open. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:11 ECHELLE 554( -258) 250 63 18.3 18.3 18.7 17.9 17.8 Clear 0.79 00:28 dis-slit 303( 443) 115 50 16.7 16.2 16.7 16.3 15.9 -- 1.14 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 73 20 21 223 (SW) 826 mstly clr none 17:00 73 19 20 264 (W) 1530 mstly clr none 18:00 71 20 19 263 (W) 634 mstly clr none 19:00 68 21 16 265 (W) 524 mstly clr none 20:00 66 22 17 264 (W) 596 mstly clr none 21:00 65 21 12 249 (WSW) 819 ptly cldy none 22:00 64 23 15 247 (WSW) 933 ptly cldy none 23:00 63 25 14 266 (W) 4655 mstly clr dust 00:00 63 27 12 273 (W) 5695 mstly clr dust 01:00 62 28 6 286 (WNW) 3030 clear none 02:00 62 28 10 267 (W) 2281 clear none 03:00 61 28 13 305 (NW) 1722 clear none 04:00 61 27 10 318 (NW) 1364 clear none 05:00 61 25 9 26 (NNE) 1049 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
