It was never quite photometric, but seeing did get very good during second half. There was a strong smoke smell around morning twilight, due to a fire in Sonora, Mexico. I was able to complete most of the engineering tasks, but some work remains to be done with DIS. The recent warming and pumping of the instrument has substantially improved the red side dark current and "wings" of scattered light, but we're still doing a quantitative assessment, and of course we will need to continue to watch for recurrence. Agile checks out well, but the instrument's "handedness" has changed so that the default orientation is now north up, east right. We think this may have been caused by a firmware update, since otherwise it seems inexplicable. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:18 AGILE 390(-1349) 240 45 18.7 19.3 19.3 18.9 18.5 r 0.90 22:10 SHACK 500( 1281) 122 58 18.4 18.1 18.5 18.1 17.7 - 2.00 23:32 GUIDER 500( 852) 33 69 17.7 17.7 18.2 17.7 17.4 Clear 1.00 02:59 dis-slit 459( 597) 69 81 16.2 16.5 17.0 16.6 16.1 - 0.78 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 75 35 32 215 (SW) 1513 ptly cldy none 17:00 71 33 26 269 (W) 1228 ptly cldy none 18:00 72 33 23 268 (W) 1210 ptly cldy none 19:00 70 34 21 243 (WSW) 1216 ptly cldy none 20:00 66 34 13 241 (WSW) 1193 ptly cldy none 21:00 66 34 13 235 (SW) 1318 ptly cldy none 22:00 66 34 13 262 (W) 1970 mstly cldy none 23:00 65 33 14 261 (W) 1906 mstly cldy none 00:00 65 31 11 268 (W) 1576 ptly cldy none 01:00 64 31 9 264 (W) 1641 mstly clr none 02:00 63 28 10 270 (W) 1645 mstly clr none 03:00 63 27 13 287 (WNW) 1493 mstly clr none 04:00 61 27 10 281 (W) 1455 clear none 05:00 61 25 12 294 (WNW) 3145 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
