We closed for a period in the middle of the night when radar returns got near (probably virga, but it's always hard to tell). The second half observer had some trouble with his images. Partly he was getting inconsistent downloads, which indicated a network problem at his end. But complicating this was the fact that when his slitviewer images did download successfully, they would not display. Apparently the newest version of TUI is incompatible with a slightly older version of MacOSX. The observer reverted to an older TUI version and the images were able to display, although the downloads were still unreliable. I ran the guiding part of the time and he was able to get it for about half the time. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:01 NICFPS 393( 1198) 206 49 19.1 19.3 19.2 18.8 18.2 Ks 0.71 01:08 TSPEC 431( 871) 339 25 17.6 17.3 17.9 17.5 17.5 Ks 1.10 02:58 TSPEC 484( 877) 316 28 16.4 16.5 17.0 16.6 16.3 Ks 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 73 30 22 259 (W) 950 ptly cldy none 17:00 76 32 13 188 (S) 2109 ptly cldy none 18:00 70 29 14 275 (W) 1170 ptly cldy none 19:00 69 27 21 211 (SSW) 3301 ptly cldy none 20:00 67 27 16 244 (WSW) 2213 ptly cldy none 21:00 66 27 8 242 (WSW) 3030 mstly clr none 22:00 67 27 10 216 (SW) 1834 ptly cldy none 23:00 65 28 5 192 (SSW) 2957 ptly cldy none 00:00 65 30 10 191 (S) 2294 ptly cldy none 01:00 64 30 11 187 (S) 2088 ptly cldy none 02:00 64 28 12 214 (SW) 2512 ptly cldy none 03:00 63 30 9 228 (SW) 2554 ptly cldy none 04:00 61 29 9 235 (SW) 2703 mstly clr none 05:00 61 25 8 263 (W) 1595 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
