Seeing was very good on initial focus, but after a few hours it deteriorated to middling-poor and stayed there for the rest of the night. More clouds returned second half, moving rather unpredictably and not really matching the satellite. Telescope and instruments behaved well, except that Don had intermittent trouble with Center Sel not working, perhaps because he was using TUI v1.9.4. There was a period during second half where internet difficulties and clouds conspired to cause significant delay in acquisition of a star; I put this down as weather since I think we would have dealt with the internet faster if we weren't sitting around waiting for the clouds to part. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:26 GIFS 275( 719) 183 60 18.7 19.4 19.9 19.2 18.5 6800 0.79 20:30 NA2gdr 29(30029) 184 60 18.5 19.3 19.8 19.1 18.5 Clear 0.90 00:20 ECHELLE 476( -385) -20 30 17.0 16.4 16.9 16.4 16.4 ND3 1.68 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 73 38 1 216 (SW) 1197 mstly cldy lt rain 17:00 67 41 10 61 (ENE) 1681 mstly cldy lt rain 18:00 64 42 17 128 (SE) 2028 ptly cldy none 19:00 68 37 13 136 (SE) 1166 ptly cldy none 20:00 67 38 13 157 (SSE) 1168 mstly clr none 21:00 68 36 22 144 (SE) 1018 mstly clr none 22:00 64 36 25 133 (SE) 1040 clear none 23:00 63 33 27 126 (SE) 1016 clear none 00:00 63 33 21 132 (SE) 1054 clear none 01:00 63 34 22 131 (SE) 1038 clear none 02:00 61 35 18 132 (SE) 973 clear none 03:00 61 35 15 144 (SE) 867 ptly cldy none 04:00 63 32 17 178 (S) 810 ptly cldy none 05:00 62 37 11 189 (S) 867 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
