The telescope did not slew in altitude, but in azimuth. After making sure there were no physical obstructions, I reinitialized the axis motors and attempted the slew again. There was no problems, and I did not see the GOPOS error Jack mentioned in his emails. Neither GIFS nor Echelle gave us trouble tonight. Smooth sailing. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:10 GIFS 403( 804) 32 52 17.2 18.4 18.4 18.0 17.2 -- 1.00 01:11 ECHELLE 541( -430) 166 82 15.7 15.3 15.7 15.5 15.4 clear 0.70 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 69 27 10 253 (WSW) 1501 clear none 17:00 69 27 14 295 (WNW) 1973 clear none 18:00 70 27 8 262 (W) 1677 clear none 19:00 68 26 13 266 (W) 1480 clear none 20:00 65 25 14 263 (W) 1677 clear none 21:00 63 27 21 241 (WSW) 1829 clear none 22:00 62 28 17 253 (WSW) 2070 clear none 23:00 62 29 10 254 (WSW) 2219 clear none 00:00 61 30 10 268 (W) 2217 clear none 01:00 60 26 13 20 (NNE) 1958 mstly clr none 02:00 61 21 21 26 (NNE) 2158 clear none 03:00 60 22 18 49 (NE) 2084 clear none 04:00 60 19 19 26 (NNE) 1555 clear none 05:00 60 18 17 23 (NNE) 1570 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
