After that, the night was peaceful and productive, with good to moderate seeing. One minor anomaly cost no time: Alex Brown's connection dropped at 04:50, the same time it dropped two nights ago. Because he was watching for a repeat, he caught it quickly and was reconnected without losing any integration time. I had also experienced internet drops several nights in a row at 5 am on our home line (which goes through Artesia, on the opposite side of the mountain from APO's connection to Tularosa). This makes me wonder if it is some larger-scale reset occurring at the same time every morning. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:40 TSPEC 592( 1036) 24 58 16.5 18.3 17.8 18.2 16.7 Ks 0.90 00:19 ECHELLE 424( -646) 131 58 12.3 13.2 13.6 13.0 12.2 ND1 1.35 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 71 32 27 224 (SW) 2325 mstly clr none 17:00 73 28 23 203 (SSW) 1878 mstly clr none 18:00 70 27 15 253 (WSW) 1633 mstly clr none 19:00 68 27 17 236 (SW) 1520 mstly clr none 20:00 63 21 15 254 (WSW) 1365 clear none 21:00 63 21 11 255 (WSW) 1366 clear none 22:00 62 21 12 231 (SW) 1550 clear none 23:00 62 20 12 233 (SW) 1465 clear none 00:00 57 32 8 134 (SE) 1902 clear none 01:00 55 32 17 132 (SE) 1655 clear none 02:00 53 32 16 129 (SE) 1594 clear none 03:00 51 31 17 145 (SE) 1634 clear none 04:00 53 31 7 181 (S) 1792 clear none 05:00 56 27 2 179 (S) 1393 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
