I took another, and they were still there. I also spoke to Russet and mentioned that the red camera temperature was 190 K at checkout. We did not receive any alerts, and thought if I kept an eye on it, we could push through the warmer temperature just because it was so warm at sunset. I went back upstairs after APOLLO's run, and both temperatures had returned to safe levels. During Mansi's run, the blue camera performed well. The red camera did not. Mansi reported a very low SN ratio, indicating that her red camera data was mostly unusable. This was toward the end of her run, so she pushed on anyways. I thought this might be due to a warmer temperature, but when I went upstairs, I found that it was the BLUE camera that had reported 190 k in the afternoon. I had mixed up the values before. And I am perplexed about the red camera issue now, because other than the two streaks in the bias, there was nothing to indicate malfunction. There were no other problems tonight. Weather was good, with decent seeing. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:22 APOLLO 449( 1334) -39 59 15.0 17.1 17.3 16.6 15.2 -- 1.00 20:56 dis-slit 587( 693) -137 75 14.9 15.8 16.2 15.3 14.8 -- 1.25 01:46 GIFS 399( 487) -33 56 12.4 12.3 12.8 12.2 12.2 -- 1.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 70 25 16 244 (WSW) 1049 clear none 17:00 73 27 17 207 (SSW) 1422 clear none 18:00 66 23 13 199 (SSW) 1203 clear none 19:00 64 20 13 269 (W) 1200 clear none 20:00 60 17 11 259 (W) 1303 clear none 21:00 59 18 16 240 (WSW) 1435 clear none 22:00 58 19 9 256 (WSW) 1436 clear none 23:00 57 20 13 263 (W) 1701 clear none 00:00 55 20 13 270 (W) 1492 mstly clr none 01:00 55 12 15 266 (W) 985 mstly clr none 02:00 54 11 11 275 (W) 893 mstly clr none 03:00 54 11 9 266 (W) 1004 clear none 04:00 53 10 17 296 (WNW) 1017 clear none 05:00 52 10 16 315 (NW) 1011 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
