This took about 15 minutes. Then we discovered the same pointing error on Apollo, and realized that it was because we made a collimation change and didn't implement the new pointing model. So we did that, and undid the echelle pointing change. All should be well again. The night was mostly clear, with a bit of high dust and terrible seeing. We stayed open the whole night. No other problems to report. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:28 ECHELLE 380( -797) 83 36 8.3 10.5 10.3 9.7 8.7 ND2 1.21 00:20 APOLLO 600( 937) 18 36 5.2 5.8 6.4 5.7 5.0 -- 2.50 01:09 TSPEC 579( 336) -9 66 4.7 5.0 5.6 5.1 4.7 -- 2.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 13 14 265 (W) 1229 clear none 17:00 56 10 9 262 (W) 1342 clear none 18:00 56 12 16 266 (W) 1153 clear none 19:00 55 11 8 258 (WSW) 1144 clear none 20:00 48 9 6 271 (W) 1185 clear none 21:00 49 11 1 226 (SW) 1155 clear none 22:00 49 9 2 352 (N) 1373 clear none 23:00 49 11 1 39 (NE) 1221 ptly cldy none 00:00 45 23 14 63 (ENE) 1656 mstly cldy dust 01:00 42 23 21 75 (ENE) 2055 clear dust 02:00 41 24 20 73 (ENE) 3240 clear dust 03:00 40 25 18 79 (E) 2872 clear dust 04:00 39 25 19 76 (ENE) 2559 clear dust 05:00 38 25 17 76 (ENE) 2224 clear dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
