Second half was plagued by heavy clouds and nearby radar returns. When it wasn't cloudy, the seeing was spectacular. The radar eventually closed us, and we called it a night at 3:50--the clouds showed no sign of clearing by morning. We also did some pickup science in preparation for a program next quarter. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:57 GUIDER 153( 15) 104 61 6.2 8.0 8.0 7.5 6.5 Clear 0.98 19:59 NA2gdr 2530(24530) 104 62 6.2 8.0 8.0 7.5 6.6 Clear 1.07 23:17 SPICAM 468( 311) 255 40 7.3 7.1 7.5 7.3 7.3 MSSSO R 1.94 00:51 ECHELLE 574( -813) 249 58 7.3 7.0 7.5 7.1 7.1 Clear 0.58 01:16 GUIDER 619( 430) 274 59 7.3 7.0 7.4 7.2 7.1 Clear 0.64 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 50 13 15 252 (WSW) 2053 cloudy none 17:00 49 14 11 263 (W) 2352 mstly cldy none 18:00 50 13 14 260 (W) 2036 mstly clr none 19:00 46 12 15 264 (W) 1654 ptly cldy none 20:00 43 11 8 248 (WSW) 1811 ptly cldy none 21:00 45 11 17 260 (W) 1806 ptly cldy none 22:00 46 14 10 266 (W) 1766 mstly clr none 23:00 46 14 11 284 (WNW) 1742 mstly clr none 00:00 46 14 11 271 (W) 1698 mstly clr none 01:00 46 14 9 263 (W) 1762 ptly cldy none 02:00 46 14 10 261 (W) 1713 cloudy none 03:00 45 15 9 259 (W) 1784 cloudy none 04:00 45 14 10 267 (W) 1790 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
