Had to wait until 00:20 before it was safe. DD04 user accidentally switched TripleSpec slit from 1.1 to 1.7. I reminded him that only 1.1 was available, but the instrument control panel and the guider were already confused. I had to power-cycle the leach controller and restart the nubs. The process took about 15 minutes. Other than that, night was clearish and uneventful with seeing from 1.25" to 2.5". ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DD04 Tspec I/H 03:18 03:33 Changed slit, had to reset hardware ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:21 ECHELLE 567(-1348) 18 75 -4.7 -3.2 -2.9 -3.2 -4.5 ND3 1.33 18:44 ECHELLE 581(-1254) -71 39 -3.1 -2.3 -2.1 -2.6 -3.0 ND4 1.65 00:31 TSPEC 650( -358) 329 82 -9.3 -9.9 -9.5 -9.7 -9.6 -- 2.28 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 27 11 16 265 (W) 578 clear none 17:00 26 12 20 247 (WSW) 754 clear none 18:00 24 13 20 264 (W) 885 mstly clr none 19:00 23 14 19 250 (WSW) 993 clear none 20:00 22 14 21 254 (WSW) 1195 clear none 21:00 21 14 14 238 (WSW) 1317 mstly clr none 22:00 21 14 15 277 (W) 939 ptly cldy none 23:00 20 14 6 323 (NW) 2132 ptly cldy none 00:00 18 8 17 335 (NNW) 752 ptly cldy none 01:00 17 5 18 322 (NW) 272 mstly clr none 02:00 15 7 19 337 (NNW) 236 mstly clr none 03:00 15 3 19 334 (NNW) 248 clear none 04:00 15 0 17 10 (N) 291 mstly clr none 05:00 15 0 16 1 (N) 232 clear none 06:00 15 -3 25 5 (N) 224 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
