After recording initial focus of GIFS and guider, I accidentally left the recording script set to guider, so the later measurements are incomplete, but I included them anyway as a log of seeing. At the start of the night, GIFS had a problem controlling filters and one of the instrument team had to be called for help. It turned out to be poor error-handling of a typo in one of the filter names. Tracing it down cost about an hour. After that, everything worked very well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UC02 G I/S 17:13 18:10 GIFS ignoring filter commands ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:44 GIFS 463( 375) -2 57 1.4 2.0 1.5 2.4 0.9 4865 0.71 18:48 NA2gdr -2758(27241) -3 57 1.1 2.0 1.4 2.3 0.9 Clear 0.81 23:25 dcamera 127 65 -1.9 -2.0 -1.7 -2.0 -2.0 - 1.40 02:10 dcamera -129 79 -3.0 -3.0 -2.6 -3.1 -3.1 - 1.30 04:58 dcamera -63 46 -1.6 -2.8 -2.2 -2.7 -2.0 - 1.95 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 38 8 1 93 (E) 405 clear none 17:00 34 13 2 199 (SSW) 405 clear none 18:00 32 12 2 159 (SSE) 405 clear none 19:00 32 6 2 49 (NE) 405 clear none 20:00 30 9 3 5 (N) 405 clear none 21:00 32 6 1 0 (N) 405 clear none 22:00 29 7 9 53 (NE) 405 clear none 23:00 29 8 12 35 (NE) 405 clear none 00:00 29 7 1 341 (NNW) 405 clear none 01:00 28 7 6 86 (E) 405 clear none 02:00 27 8 15 80 (E) 405 clear none 03:00 27 7 16 78 (ENE) 405 clear none 04:00 29 4 8 109 (ESE) 405 clear none 05:00 29 -1 3 106 (ESE) 405 clear none 06:00 28 2 8 87 (E) 405 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
