I tried to work on characterization of the new B1000 grating but had some trouble with one of the grating motors - fortunately not the most popular one. Once I was able to open I did some more tests of the new guide software and checked collimation using SPIcam. Second half was peaceful and productive with somehat variable seeing. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:15 dcamera 404( -174) 165 69 -4.5 -4.5 -3.9 -4.5 -4.6 - 1.36 23:49 SPIcam 625( 181) 34 52 -4.7 -5.1 -4.5 -5.0 -5.2 R 0.99 00:30 dcamera 550( -42) 68 73 -4.1 -4.7 -4.2 -4.5 -4.1 - 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 29 21 2 250 (WSW) 405 clear humid 17:00 25 21 3 206 (SSW) 405 clear humid 18:00 22 18 9 50 (NE) 405 clear humid 19:00 22 18 7 62 (ENE) 405 clear humid 20:00 23 17 9 41 (NE) 405 clear humid 21:00 24 18 5 347 (NNW) 405 clear none 22:00 23 14 22 65 (ENE) 405 clear none 23:00 23 8 10 69 (ENE) 405 clear none 00:00 24 0 16 78 (ENE) 405 clear none 01:00 25 -5 12 66 (ENE) 405 clear none 02:00 24 -13 9 134 (SE) 405 clear none 03:00 25 -14 2 179 (S) 405 clear none 04:00 28 -16 2 151 (SSE) 405 clear none 05:00 30 -15 3 155 (SSE) 405 clear none 06:00 29 -15 3 142 (SE) 405 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
