Seeing was generally good. There were also some periods of high humidity when I thought it was necessary to close the dome. Fortunately, targets for tonight included Venus and Jupiter - if APOLLO had been observing it would have been a trifecta of bright targets! The observers were able to get through the clouds to a lesser or greater extent; I only counted a little time lost out of second half since they got a small amount of science but did make a lot of progress in refining their complicated setup. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:39 ecamera 781( -537) 24 66 1.7 1.6 2.2 1.6 2.2 ND2 0.99 00:32 dcamera 533( 298) 86 65 3.4 2.3 2.9 2.4 3.0 ND3 0.99 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 38 24 4 232 (SW) 405 mstly clr none 17:00 36 26 6 276 (W) 405 ptly cldy none 18:00 36 27 5 266 (W) 405 ptly cldy none 19:00 36 31 2 246 (WSW) 405 ptly cldy none 20:00 36 32 2 209 (SSW) 405 ptly cldy none 21:00 34 32 8 183 (S) 405 ptly cldy none 22:00 35 29 7 183 (S) 405 ptly cldy none 23:00 37 24 7 181 (S) 405 ptly cldy none 00:00 39 19 6 185 (S) 405 ptly cldy none 01:00 38 20 6 187 (S) 405 ptly cldy none 02:00 38 18 6 185 (S) 405 ptly cldy none 03:00 40 21 10 184 (S) 405 mstly cldy none 04:00 40 20 14 177 (S) 405 mstly cldy none 05:00 40 21 9 187 (S) 405 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
