Good data for both. Then UVa tested a specific mask they brought for a cluster. The mask appeared to be wrong so they turned back to standard observations with DIS (1.2 arcsec slit with Hi Res gratings). Had to close the dome at 22:58 because of high humidity (82% with difference between primary mirror and Sloan dew point less than 2 celsius). Dew point sensor of the 3.5 m was still stuck below 0 C while sloan's indicated 1.1 C. We mounted Spicam at midnight, then we remount DIS at 3am with changing wheel and adding a neutral density filter on the guidng camera i prevision of Jupiter observations. We give up at 4:30. No hope of improvement. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:28 ecamera 646( -308) -43 19 3.4 7.3 6.6 7.2 3.7 ND3 2.17 18:24 APOLLO 650( 1280) -22 40 3.1 4.9 4.6 4.3 3.0 530 2.00 20:02 DIS 550( 364) -118 55 3.2 3.0 3.5 2.9 2.6 -- 0.96 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 47 13 7 194 (SSW) 175 clear none 17:00 40 12 5 179 (S) 237 ptly cldy none 18:00 37 20 16 142 (SE) 190 mstly clr none 19:00 37 21 19 150 (SSE) 172 clear none 20:00 38 24 15 172 (S) 163 clear none 21:00 37 29 14 166 (SSE) 227 clear none 22:00 37 30 15 168 (SSE) 401 mstly clr none 23:00 38 31 18 176 (S) 375 mstly cldy none 00:00 38 30 16 182 (S) 388 cloudy none 01:00 38 32 12 189 (S) 374 cloudy none 02:00 39 32 15 215 (SW) 318 cloudy none 03:00 39 32 12 221 (SW) 309 cloudy none 04:00 39 32 12 248 (WSW) 361 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
