I exposed with Tspec slitviewer, noticed the telescope was way out of focus, and attempted to adjust the secondary manually. All of my commands were rejected, and after asking Russet to home the secondary, Bill came in from home to fix the problem so we could get back on sky. Please see PR 1463 for details. After we got back on sky with UW03 at 23:16, telescope behaved well and observations went smoothly, with seeing from 0.78-1.4" for the remained of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PU02 TSPEC T/H 19:45 23:16 secondary mirror lost, would not home ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:08 ecamera 571( -290) 59 69 7.5 10.6 9.8 10.3 8.1 ND1 0.78 23:26 AGILE 550(-1459) 168 83 9.7 7.7 8.0 7.8 8.9 BG40 1.21 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 51 24 3 212 (SSW) 546 clear none 17:00 51 21 5 263 (W) 551 clear none 18:00 49 21 3 233 (SW) 456 clear none 19:00 45 20 2 182 (S) 394 clear none 20:00 46 20 2 244 (WSW) 490 clear none 21:00 45 17 2 198 (SSW) 358 clear none 22:00 47 18 2 192 (SSW) 418 clear none 23:00 50 18 6 93 (E) 283 clear none 00:00 51 16 2 172 (S) 282 clear none 01:00 48 18 9 137 (SE) 361 clear none 02:00 50 12 4 171 (S) 266 clear none 03:00 51 10 4 183 (S) 248 clear none 04:00 47 15 5 122 (ESE) 203 clear none 05:00 48 13 10 131 (SE) 255 clear none 06:00 47 13 9 125 (SE) 204 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
