There was a period when the GS observers were unable to get useful data, counted as lost to weather. The 3.5m dewpoint sensor froze up, but by comparing the 2.5m dewpoint sensor to the 3.5m telescope temperatures I decided to close a while before the start of morning twilight. APOLLO ran a little over time so I reflected that in the time accounting, but the extra time was very useful as we finally overcame two problems to obtain some good signal. Since this is not a regular facility instrument and the telescope was working properly, the time was not listed as lost to equipment problems. Aside from APOLLO, the instruments and telescope behaved well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:47 APOLLO 700( 1531) 202 76 10.2 9.4 9.8 9.4 9.8 530 1.10 20:52 ecamera 660( -167) 339 22 10.5 10.0 10.3 10.1 10.2 ND2 1.10 02:18 ecamera 691( -260) 47 76 9.4 8.9 9.2 9.0 9.0 ND3 1.47 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 55 31 16 183 (S) 544 clear none 17:00 54 29 8 218 (SW) 484 clear none 18:00 53 30 12 192 (SSW) 519 clear none 19:00 48 30 18 135 (SE) 577 clear none 20:00 49 30 14 180 (S) 532 clear none 21:00 51 29 16 181 (S) 610 clear none 22:00 50 28 17 177 (S) 584 clear none 23:00 50 28 16 164 (SSE) 566 mstly clr none 00:00 49 29 14 170 (S) 510 ptly cldy none 01:00 50 29 11 159 (SSE) 465 ptly cldy none 02:00 49 32 20 131 (SE) 670 mstly cldy none 03:00 49 32 20 139 (SE) 672 ptly cldy humid 04:00 48 31 18 150 (SSE) 608 ptly cldy humid 05:00 48 31 18 155 (SSE) 680 ptly cldy humid 06:00 48 31 18 152 (SSE) 611 ptly cldy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
