DIS initially needed to be focused at 650 but as the night progressed the value was lowered (see focus log), something to keep an eye on for future nights. When rotating the tertiary from NA2 to NA1 the Spicam Ion pump stopped responding (may be unrelated). Bill's instructions for this (from my end) was to power cycle the ion pump by unplugging it and starting it up again. I believe there was more to it than that but I was not involved with any additional steps. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:05 dis-slit 658( 57) -81 43 -0.1 1.4 0.7 1.8 0.2 1.34 19:02 dis-slit 523( -123) -94 45 0.2 0.6 0.4 0.6 0.0 1.54 21:41 dis-slit 377( -295) -106 33 0.6 -0.3 0.2 -0.6 -0.3 1.49 00:13 ECHELLE 513(-1297) -110 72 0.6 -1.1 -0.7 -1.4 -1.3 ND3 0.88 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 37 0 1 104 (ESE) 0 clear none 17:00 37 3 1 199 (SSW) 0 clear none 18:00 32 12 6 97 (E) 0 clear none 19:00 33 13 7 122 (ESE) 0 clear none 20:00 34 12 3 184 (S) 0 clear none 21:00 33 9 9 162 (SSE) 0 clear none 22:00 33 4 5 187 (S) 0 clear none 23:00 33 7 6 186 (S) 0 clear none 00:00 32 13 3 185 (S) 0 clear none 01:00 31 6 4 192 (SSW) 0 clear none 02:00 30 5 5 189 (S) 0 clear none 03:00 30 8 2 147 (SSE) 0 clear none 04:00 31 2 5 186 (S) 0 clear none 05:00 30 4 8 179 (S) 0 clear none 06:00 31 1 10 164 (SSE) 0 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
