I failed, and remianed closed because of high winds and clouds, and contacted Russet and Fritz to intervene. We finally gave up, and the observer defaulted to DIS once the winds calmed down. DIS soon failed, and after some troubleshooting between Russet and the observer, the window and binning sizes were adjusted to functioning values, and we were able to continue with observations. See PR 1411 for details. The user had connectivity issues with TUI, and while this disabled her from continuing her program, I took over the controls and agreed to finish observations on the one target she had planned for tonight. To ensure that the images were saved in the correct place, I logged into Newton and ran TUI as a UW02 user, so the science would save in the observer's original directory. This ate some time because I had to search for my newton password, and the disk was full. After clearing some .fits files from the Temp_copy directory on jhuobserver, TUI finally ran logged in NMSU observer. Observations continued. Clouds were too thick to push through at 01:00. Stayed open in case. Closed at 04:06 due to clouds. Light precip just after 05:00, and we gave up for the night at 6:00 when the user finished cals. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW02 Agile I/S 16:45 19:00 ICC, nimble, camera not communicating UW02 DIS I/S 19:14 19:36 DIS expose failed, change window size ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:02 BLUE_DIS 371( -585) 104 64 -6.5 -5.2 -4.3 -5.4 -6.4 -- 2.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 24 15 22 270 (W) 1277 cloudy none 17:00 23 13 27 279 (W) 1104 ptly cldy none 18:00 21 12 33 270 (W) 782 mstly cldy none 19:00 20 9 28 269 (W) 930 ptly cldy none 20:00 19 6 24 290 (WNW) 656 ptly cldy none 21:00 20 11 20 268 (W) 624 ptly cldy none 22:00 20 11 17 274 (W) 593 ptly cldy none 23:00 20 11 19 265 (W) 544 ptly cldy none 00:00 20 11 18 235 (SW) 548 ptly cldy none 01:00 19 9 21 240 (WSW) 539 cloudy none 02:00 19 9 19 261 (W) 570 cloudy none 03:00 18 10 15 260 (W) 594 cloudy none 04:00 18 9 17 235 (SW) 530 cloudy none 05:00 16 8 12 267 (W) 613 cloudy lt rain 06:00 14 10 17 239 (WSW) 1305 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
