Ketzeback I filled in for Russet who was feeling under the weather until 23:40 Threatening clouds delayed the start of the night by about 40 minutes. Once they moved out of the area we opened to a nice first half with slightly elevated and slightly variable seeing. Still it was a productive first half. Everything worked well. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R. McMillan Clear with excellent seeing when first half began, but a wave of high clouds formed over Otero County and interfered with observations. The observer gave up at 5 am. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:13 TSPEC 274( 844) 6 45 18.2 20.5 20.2 20.6 18.5 Ks 1.58 20:29 TSPEC 249( 823) -8 27 18.1 20.0 19.8 19.8 18.3 Ks 1.03 20:44 TSPEC 274( 829) -11 27 17.9 19.6 19.4 19.3 18.3 Ks 1.03 21:13 TSPEC 274( 800) -16 25 18.3 18.9 19.0 18.6 18.1 Ks 1.32 21:15 TSPEC 274( 800) -17 24 18.3 18.9 19.0 18.6 18.2 Ks 1.23 21:19 TSPEC 299( 761) 12 72 18.1 18.9 18.9 18.6 18.2 Ks 0.79 21:20 TSPEC 299( 761) 11 72 18.2 18.9 18.9 18.6 18.2 Ks 1.04 21:27 TSPEC 299( 754) 7 72 18.0 18.8 18.9 18.5 18.1 Ks 1.13 21:35 TSPEC 324( 764) 1 72 17.7 18.5 18.7 18.3 17.4 Ks 0.98 21:49 TSPEC 324( 752) -10 72 17.2 18.2 18.5 18.0 17.2 Ks 0.98 22:00 TSPEC 324( 741) -18 71 17.0 18.0 18.3 17.8 17.0 Ks 1.03 22:05 TSPEC 324( 736) -21 71 17.1 17.9 18.2 17.7 17.0 Ks 1.08 22:25 TSPEC 324( 720) -34 69 16.9 17.6 17.9 17.4 16.8 Ks 0.99 22:47 TSPEC 324( 709) -46 66 16.9 17.4 17.7 17.2 16.8 Ks 1.11 22:53 TSPEC 324( 708) -48 65 16.9 17.3 17.6 17.2 16.8 Ks 1.13 23:01 TSPEC 324( 703) -52 64 16.9 17.2 17.6 17.1 16.7 Ks 0.99 00:06 ECHELLE 377( -520) -44 70 17.3 16.8 17.2 16.8 17.0 ND3 0.54 Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 74 42 2 177 (S) 998 mstly cldy none 17:00 67 39 6 344 (NNW) 889 ptly cldy none 18:00 71 41 1 192 (SSW) 845 mstly clr none 19:00 67 38 1 221 (SW) 777 ptly cldy none 20:00 65 37 3 219 (SW) 773 clear none 21:00 65 36 3 193 (SSW) 933 clear none 22:00 63 39 14 155 (SSE) 973 clear none 23:00 62 39 14 163 (SSE) 939 clear none 00:00 63 39 12 179 (S) 940 clear none 01:00 63 39 9 192 (SSW) 897 clear none 02:00 63 39 8 183 (S) 937 clear none 03:00 63 40 7 208 (SSW) 939 ptly cldy none 04:00 63 39 8 231 (SW) 937 mstly cldy none 05:00 62 39 8 236 (SW) 1003 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
