Clear skies, mediocre seeing. All instruments checked out (normal biases, darks, or flats). NICFPS ICS needed to be started. Checked pointing in all 4 quadrants with both Agile and echelle. Pointing model NA2. Agreed with previous model so it was not implemented. Data sent to engineering group. DIS slitviewer focus check. Slitviwer focus was eventually adjusted. Full set of dcam masks updated. Boresight position confirmed. Echelle standards on sky: BD +28 (900s), HD 165459 (450s), BD +17 (900s). Files in echelle directory. Tertiary left pointed at BC1 in the morning. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:17 GUIDER 534( 842) -101 57 15.6 16.7 16.8 16.3 15.5 1.22 00:01 dis-slit 355( 408) 8 57 15.0 14.6 15.0 14.5 14.4 1.62 00:03 dis-slit 359( 411) 8 57 15.2 14.6 15.0 14.5 14.5 1.48 00:38 dis-slit 384( 439) 33 47 14.6 14.4 14.9 14.4 14.3 1.81 00:42 dis-slit 406( 461) 32 47 14.3 14.4 14.9 14.4 14.3 2.07 00:54 dis-slit 393( 421) -43 85 14.6 14.3 14.8 14.3 13.9 1.16 02:40 dis-slit 391( 407) -53 44 14.3 13.6 14.1 13.6 13.5 1.40 02:51 dis-slit 363( 382) -56 42 14.2 13.5 14.0 13.5 13.5 1.42 02:54 dis-slit 363( 381) -57 41 14.2 13.5 14.0 13.5 13.5 1.52 04:14 APOLLO 425( 1106) 63 61 14.1 13.4 13.9 13.5 13.6 1.20 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 70 38 15 79 (E) 1147 clear none 17:00 67 40 10 91 (E) 1144 clear none 18:00 67 38 6 57 (ENE) 1206 clear none 19:00 67 35 5 109 (ESE) 1169 clear none 20:00 64 35 2 113 (ESE) 944 clear none 21:00 62 35 6 143 (SE) 940 clear none 22:00 61 36 11 122 (ESE) 1056 clear none 23:00 59 38 10 112 (ESE) 1169 clear none 00:00 59 38 4 113 (ESE) 1221 clear none 01:00 59 39 13 132 (SE) 1244 clear none 02:00 58 40 16 124 (SE) 1027 clear none 03:00 58 40 12 114 (ESE) 1160 clear none 04:00 58 40 15 121 (ESE) 1123 clear none 05:00 58 39 15 125 (SE) 1083 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
