But the period when I had to close due to threatened rain in the middle of the night did interrupt a long pointing model so it effectively cost a lot of time. I did get the pointing model finished and it looked pretty good. Then I adjusted pointing on the echelle and checked and adjusted collimation (a moderate change, still pretty small considering the secondary was removed and put back). So it was a very productive night. Tomorrow's top priority will be DIS. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:46 SPICAM 373( 720) 10 65 16.0 17.6 17.4 17.7 16.0 R 1.04 19:59 NA2gdr 1997(31997) 3 65 15.9 17.2 17.2 17.2 15.8 R+ND2 0.97 03:15 SHACK 225( 768) 266 58 13.6 13.5 14.0 13.6 13.5 - 1.20 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 67 47 6 49 (NE) 1871 ptly cldy none 17:00 67 48 15 78 (ENE) 2073 ptly cldy none 18:00 66 48 19 84 (E) 2261 ptly cldy none 19:00 63 49 16 72 (ENE) 2670 mstly clr none 20:00 62 49 20 81 (E) 2740 mstly clr none 21:00 61 48 12 88 (E) 2736 mstly clr none 22:00 60 48 15 88 (E) 3139 ptly cldy none 23:00 58 49 17 81 (E) 2946 cloudy none 00:00 59 50 16 77 (ENE) 3584 cloudy none 01:00 58 50 12 76 (ENE) 4040 mstly clr none 02:00 57 50 14 98 (E) 4316 clear none 03:00 57 50 15 78 (ENE) 4241 clear none 04:00 58 49 10 89 (E) 3834 clear none 05:00 57 49 12 84 (E) 3678 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
