Pointing was reasonable on two stars in disparate parts of the sky, which will make it easy to get full pointing models when the weather decides to cooperate for more than one hour. Collimation was not grossly off. A proper collimation check will require better seeing and enough time to cool the telescope to equilibrium, but the focus donuts I saw were consistent with what I would expect for a warm telescope. Focus values for SPIcam and NA2guider were near the expected range, confirming that everything went back together as it was. I confirmed that the telescope still cannot see through clouds with optical thickness >1, and also that clouds tend to precede or accompany rain. Much work still needs to be done, but we're in a good starting place. Now we wait for usable weather. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:21 SPICAM 267( 521) -146 49 14.0 15.4 15.9 15.3 14.2 R 1.70 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 65 45 15 77 (ENE) 928 cloudy rain 17:00 66 49 8 109 (ESE) 918 cloudy none 18:00 67 48 8 78 (ENE) 1073 cloudy none 19:00 70 46 6 90 (E) 1175 cloudy none 20:00 68 46 7 95 (E) 1293 mstly cldy none 21:00 66 46 15 80 (E) 1455 mstly cldy none 22:00 66 45 12 91 (E) 1736 mstly cldy lt rain 23:00 60 47 15 88 (E) 2007 ptly cldy none 00:00 58 48 33 77 (ENE) 2541 ptly cldy none 01:00 56 50 32 74 (ENE) 2451 ptly cldy humid 02:00 54 50 23 73 (ENE) 2466 mstly cldy humid 03:00 54 50 24 81 (E) 2473 cloudy humid 04:00 53 50 7 121 (ESE) 2842 cloudy lt rain Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
