Seeing was initially poor but got better later in the morning. Humidity rose near the limit and I pushed it for a while but finally had to cut off the observer's chance of getting twilight flats. DIS is having an odd problem with apparent dark current on the red side even though the red chip is colder than the blue (which has no trouble). There was a false fire alarm at 04:50 from the new dorm; Audrey and I silenced and reset it. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:52 dis-slit 117( 286) -42 33 14.6 16.2 16.2 15.9 14.5 - 1.70 00:36 SPICAM 325( 542) -37 49 13.9 14.7 14.9 14.6 14.0 g 1.30 00:47 NA2gdr 1280(31280) -41 48 14.0 14.5 14.8 14.4 13.7 R 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 63 52 3 352 (N) 1025 cloudy lt rain 17:00 65 56 6 221 (SW) 898 cloudy none 18:00 61 56 2 234 (SW) 924 cloudy none 19:00 62 56 6 226 (SW) 975 cloudy lt rain 20:00 60 55 2 214 (SW) 1018 cloudy none 21:00 59 54 3 198 (SSW) 1068 mstly cldy none 22:00 58 52 7 134 (SE) 1138 mstly cldy none 23:00 58 52 5 159 (SSE) 1348 ptly cldy none 00:00 59 49 9 126 (SE) 1322 ptly cldy none 01:00 58 48 9 178 (S) 1488 mstly clr none 02:00 56 50 6 91 (E) 1474 mstly clr none 03:00 57 52 1 213 (SSW) 1818 mstly clr humid 04:00 57 52 1 179 (S) 1596 ptly cldy humid 05:00 56 52 2 101 (E) 1933 ptly cldy humid 06:00 56 52 7 79 (E) 2152 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
