But clouds in the middle portion of the night did hamper observing for a while and I almost decided to close, until conditions quickly started to improve. The ecam filter was definitely not moving properly. After a round of diagnosis in the evening we were able to minimize, but not eliminate, problems for later programs. It will be worked on during the day. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NM04 E I/H 21:58 22:08 ecam filter mismove NM07 E I/H 00:00 00:08 ecam filter mismove PU05 E I/H 01:44 01:49 ecam filter mismove ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:43 TSPEC 650( 994) -24 49 14.1 16.2 14.9 16.4 14.4 Ks 1.23 20:48 ECHELLE 478( -492) -44 41 14.2 14.7 14.5 14.4 13.8 Clear 0.94 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 63 48 7 192 (SSW) 1990 cloudy rain 17:00 56 52 1 304 (NW) 2747 cloudy none 18:00 60 49 7 157 (SSE) 2351 mstly cldy none 19:00 61 48 10 176 (S) 2321 ptly cldy none 20:00 58 46 13 125 (SE) 2630 mstly clr none 21:00 58 44 18 126 (SE) 2439 mstly clr none 22:00 58 41 17 134 (SE) 2100 ptly cldy none 23:00 58 41 13 137 (SE) 2172 mstly cldy none 00:00 57 42 14 135 (SE) 2221 mstly cldy none 01:00 58 41 12 140 (SE) 2128 ptly cldy none 02:00 58 38 13 124 (SE) 1948 mstly clr none 03:00 57 40 14 122 (ESE) 2160 clear none 04:00 56 41 16 131 (SE) 2443 clear none 05:00 57 40 12 126 (SE) 2171 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
