Guider offsets didn't seem to move the field much. example, to move the star about 0.5 arc sec I needed to issue about a 3 arc sec offset. The field also wanted to drift to the left. This was along the alt axis. I did an MS.DUMP at 07:56:16. The alt error from the DATAQ was -1.35. It seems I had this same problem last month as well. We choose another guide star and that seemed to help (or we may just moved westward from the transit?). Tracking seemed better the remainder of the night (we stayed on one object). I checked the tape mark on the NA2 rotator at the end of the night and it wasn't off by much, so I don't think it was the NA2 rotator being off. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:00 GFP 275( 523) -9 31 13.1 14.7 14.6 14.0 13.1 6563/10 1.20 21:02 NA2gdr -2187(27813) -9 31 13.2 14.6 14.6 13.9 13.1 clear 1.40 00:20 dis-slit 387( 338) -26 55 12.8 12.5 13.0 12.6 12.5 -- 1.16 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 63 49 8 259 (W) 821 ptly cldy none 17:00 63 46 1 241 (WSW) 697 ptly cldy none 18:00 64 42 8 37 (NE) 556 ptly cldy none 19:00 62 43 7 76 (ENE) 589 ptly cldy none 20:00 60 44 12 78 (ENE) 732 mstly clr none 21:00 57 46 15 86 (E) 800 mstly clr none 22:00 56 47 11 87 (E) 941 mstly clr none 23:00 55 47 13 87 (E) 977 mstly clr none 00:00 56 45 14 84 (E) 985 mstly clr none 01:00 56 42 12 87 (E) 816 mstly clr none 02:00 55 41 10 109 (ESE) 834 mstly clr none 03:00 55 41 9 91 (E) 746 mstly clr none 04:00 56 41 7 85 (E) 785 mstly clr none 05:00 57 40 6 87 (E) 711 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
