I took some echelle biases while the telescope was stationary and while it was in motion to see if that could produce the banding that has been reported recently. See files in tonight's directory for /echelle/biases.* The banding was not clearly produced either way. Clouds and radar returns closed us early at the end of the night. Moths are back pretty bad. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03:06 dis-slit 383( 650) -142 64 20.3 18.9 19.5 18.9 18.8 1.07 22:09 ECHELLE 314( -370) 314 40 18.8 20.3 20.1 20.0 18.8 1.71 23:14 ECHELLE 345( -423) 12 40 18.0 18.7 18.9 18.4 17.8 ND3 1.38 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 78 35 5 102 (ESE) 1034 ptly cldy none 17:00 73 36 11 197 (SSW) 1078 ptly cldy none 18:00 73 36 1 202 (SSW) 1127 mstly clr none 19:00 71 38 11 115 (ESE) 1044 mstly clr none 20:00 70 37 8 109 (ESE) 1116 mstly clr none 21:00 69 37 12 125 (SE) 1352 mstly clr none 22:00 68 38 14 127 (SE) 1386 mstly clr none 23:00 66 36 19 124 (SE) 1415 mstly clr none 00:00 65 37 19 126 (SE) 1346 mstly clr none 01:00 63 37 13 125 (SE) 1462 mstly clr none 02:00 63 36 7 166 (SSE) 1225 mstly clr none 03:00 67 35 13 211 (SSW) 1207 ptly cldy none 04:00 66 35 10 205 (SSW) 1165 ptly cldy none 05:00 64 36 6 184 (S) 1166 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
