I re-took 5 Brt. Qrtz flats for Don Yorks program since I was probably a light leak in the dome when he took them earlier. 04:58:05, observer accidently slewed the telescope in the middle of an exposure and then halted the slew. This somehow killed the Echelle slitview camera (images taken after slew were bad). I had to power cycle the camera to fix. The halt also caused a Az drive error. Axis init and reslew fixed this problem (although it took me a couple minutes to discover what was going on). Slightly elevated dust levels tonight. Reversed fans and kept louvers closed. Seeing was poor the 2nd half of the night. Made for a tough go with APOLLO with 3 arc sec seeing or worse. They managed to still get a few returns. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:29 ECHELLE 382( -356) -10 67 18.9 19.9 20.1 19.7 18.9 ND3 0.93 23:17 ECHELLE 643( -284) 185 61 15.8 16.1 17.2 15.8 15.6 ND3 1.30 02:00 ECHELLE 780( -184) 12 57 14.8 15.2 17.1 15.2 14.8 ND2 1.80 02:46 ECHELLE 431( -563) -118 61 15.4 14.8 15.8 14.5 14.4 clear 1.70 03:57 APOLLO 350( 1124) 101 28 14.4 14.2 14.8 13.9 14.1 -- 3.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 71 36 14 211 (SSW) 2119 cloudy none 17:00 71 35 16 223 (SW) 2107 cloudy none 18:00 68 36 16 212 (SSW) 2726 ptly cldy none 19:00 70 36 10 213 (SSW) 2663 ptly cldy none 20:00 66 32 13 185 (S) 2385 mstly clr none 21:00 66 29 12 183 (S) 1940 clear none 22:00 62 43 18 135 (SE) 3682 clear dust 23:00 61 46 22 132 (SE) 4293 mstly clr dust 00:00 60 45 19 134 (SE) 4322 mstly clr dust 01:00 60 45 16 135 (SE) 3670 mstly clr dust 02:00 61 44 15 142 (SE) 3709 clear dust 03:00 59 43 5 143 (SE) 3631 clear dust 04:00 59 42 8 139 (SE) 3618 clear dust 05:00 58 38 7 235 (SW) 3075 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
