Removed broken sight glass so the guage worked again. I also did a manual fill after filling, just in case I missed the auto fill while I was transfering LN2 (and the nurse tank was completely filled, so I needed to remove some LN2 from the nurse tank). The dis slitwheel was off by 1 slit position tonight. I noticed this, when the mask didn't match slit, when I started my initial focus run (it wasn't noticeable with the checkout images as the tertiary was pointed at the NA1 port). I re-homed the wheel and that fixed the problem (mask now matched the slit and the appropriate slit was in place that TUI reported). I looked at the dis slit images from the last time DIS was used (June 7) and it appeared the wrong slit was indeed in place for that night as well (it also just happened to be the same observer (UW12) my last half tonight and I informed him of the problem). I do not know when the wheel came out of alignment but there was a note on the engineering night of 20120606 of a slit alignment problem. Echelle boresight was off due to recent camera fixes. I made the permanent fix to the echelle boresight location in the .dat file tonight. The nightlogfocus script did not record the echelle focus for me, it recorded others. There was a write failure and I needed to restart the program to fix it. I also had to manually enter the missing data later (Some info was lost) when I noticed the failure after I focused DIS. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:50 dis-slit 431( 701) 240 60 16.9 18.9 18.7 18.7 17.2 -- 1.00 01:10 echelle 385 ND2 0.78 02:10 dis-slit 406( 479) 93 59 15.9 15.0 15.6 15.0 15.0 -- 1.10 03:23 APOLLO 450( 1211) 71 53 15.4 14.7 15.2 14.6 14.8 -- 1.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 73 27 24 247 (WSW) 1662 clear none 17:00 72 28 26 257 (WSW) 1156 clear none 18:00 70 27 26 247 (WSW) 1045 clear none 19:00 67 22 18 256 (WSW) 772 clear none 20:00 64 19 19 261 (W) 629 clear none 21:00 62 17 21 239 (WSW) 525 clear none 22:00 62 17 13 260 (W) 547 clear none 23:00 62 16 14 250 (WSW) 492 clear none 00:00 62 16 9 265 (W) 538 clear none 01:00 61 18 10 299 (WNW) 685 clear none 02:00 61 19 15 305 (NW) 955 clear none 03:00 60 18 6 322 (NW) 1180 clear none 04:00 60 18 10 281 (W) 961 clear none 05:00 59 19 13 320 (NW) 1208 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
