Opened for an hour before 70% humidity with 5K dust counts closed us. Humidity and dust stayed high until after 2 am. Did not get on-sky with SPIcam, so the instrument block still needs to get done next week during engineering. New ecam mask at least. Dust spike just after 4 am closed us for the night. Since the mirror was exposed to 15K counts might need CO2 cleaning. Telescope parked at -90, 20 as per Bill's request. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:07 ECHELLE 480( -699) 154 70 12.3 11.2 11.5 11.5 12.6 1.32 02:42 dis-slit 518( 400) 169 82 14.7 11.5 12.1 11.8 12.8 1.22 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 64 28 1 102 (ESE) 5336 mstly cldy lt rain 17:00 57 35 5 97 (E) 4217 mstly cldy dust 18:00 57 38 17 78 (ENE) 3746 mstly cldy none 19:00 56 42 18 71 (ENE) 3630 mstly cldy none 20:00 56 43 17 86 (E) 4183 mstly clr none 21:00 54 45 16 83 (E) 4823 mstly clr dust 22:00 54 46 14 86 (E) 5890 mstly clr dust 23:00 52 48 16 87 (E) 6735 mstly clr dust 00:00 51 48 13 88 (E) 6616 mstly clr dust 01:00 51 48 10 94 (E) 6418 mstly clr dust 02:00 57 36 1 208 (SSW) 5014 mstly clr dust 03:00 57 36 1 160 (SSE) 4266 mstly clr dust 04:00 58 30 4 198 (SSW) 3334 mstly clr dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
