Then updated the instrument block. New image scale is 0.0133. Boresight guiding checks out fine. further adjusted boresight to center of slit in instrument block after instrument block. Joe and Bill took Scattered light tests. Took 12s FS1, FS8, FS16 tspec exposures during the night to check for pattern noise. Images can be found in the /tspec directory. Much better images tonight. Bill and Joe zero'ed rotator. I tried checking collimation with Shack-Hartman but VMware would not boot Windows95 properly, kept crashing with a blue screen of death when it would find new hardware (clicking cancel then Sensoft couldn't find dongle). We checked collimation with Agile and it looked awsome (per Russet). Lost sound again on Obs1 when (I think) I switched to the arc account. It was working fine earlier. While the arc account was running I had no sound, as soon as I logged out of the arc account my sound returned!!! Motion error on Alt axis during pointing model 10:36:16 .tcc.0 0 tcc W AltStat=20.815748,0.816300,4835414244.05000,0x02006001; BadAltStatus; AltDTime=-0.1 This error caused me to skip one data point in the pointing model (BIGGRID.DAT) New pointing model implemented. Checked NA2 guider with a few stars, looked good. Checked Echelle pointing, camera died on me so I couldn't check. It was doing this earlier in the evening and the camera itself needed to be power cycled (which I don't know how to do) since it lost connection. This late in the night I just closed up shop. Telescope tertiary left pointing at NA2 for Bill and Joe to take flats. Instrument set to SPIcam. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:20 ECHELLE 302(-1400) 15 66 -2.2 0.9 0.5 0.8 -1.3 ND3 1.30 03:10 GUIDER 536( -114) 110 74 -1.3 -1.9 -1.2 -1.7 -1.3 ND3 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 34 18 8 225 (SW) 1060 ptly cldy none 17:00 29 16 2 331 (NNW) 1056 ptly cldy none 18:00 27 20 8 82 (E) 757 ptly cldy none 19:00 30 15 6 331 (NNW) 518 ptly cldy none 20:00 29 17 1 159 (SSE) 591 ptly cldy none 21:00 30 16 3 231 (SW) 495 mstly clr none 22:00 30 16 3 143 (SE) 749 mstly clr none 23:00 29 15 6 192 (SSW) 793 ptly cldy none 00:00 29 17 7 182 (S) 838 mstly clr none 01:00 25 17 8 128 (SE) 967 ptly cldy none 02:00 31 17 3 182 (S) 723 clear none 03:00 30 18 10 187 (S) 439 clear none 04:00 31 20 8 183 (S) 386 clear none 05:00 33 24 10 192 (SSW) 362 clear none 06:00 33 24 12 180 (S) 241 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
