The first half we were able to punch through without them being terribly threatening. Around 12:30 I started to worry about some nasty clouds coming our way, and I closed at 01:05. I did not reopen. The echelle slitviewer was cranky tonight. It would work for an hour or two, then would refuse to work again until slitty was rebooted. During the last hour that we were open it required extra attention, because failed exposures would stop the guiding every few minutes. I rebooted slitty 3 times throughout the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:18 ECHELLE 480(-1335) -16 77 -2.6 -1.2 -1.5 -1.7 -2.4 Clear 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 32 8 8 262 (W) 698 clear none 17:00 29 6 3 221 (SW) 632 ptly cldy none 18:00 28 1 2 297 (WNW) 484 ptly cldy none 19:00 28 1 8 53 (NE) 551 cloudy none 20:00 29 1 0 262 (W) 701 cloudy none 21:00 28 6 4 69 (ENE) 987 cloudy none 22:00 25 16 14 79 (E) 1315 cloudy none 23:00 24 17 10 89 (E) 1446 cloudy none 00:00 22 16 8 109 (ESE) 1299 cloudy none 01:00 22 15 3 163 (SSE) 1025 cloudy none 02:00 27 10 12 167 (SSE) 1002 cloudy none 03:00 28 10 15 156 (SSE) 1049 cloudy none 04:00 27 12 13 154 (SSE) 1169 cloudy none 05:00 25 14 17 139 (SE) 1393 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
